Sunday School

Living Savior Lutheran Church has a variety of educational resources for your family. From Sunday School, to weekly Adult Bible Studies, Youth activities and Vacation Bible School in the Summer, we strive to help you deepen your knowledge of Christ and Scripture.

Children’s Sunday School begins at 9:45am each Sunday morning. We begin with a large group session in Room 5, and then divide into four age groups around 10:00am.

  • Nursery for ages 3 and younger
  • PreK through Kindergarten
  • Grades 1-2
  • Grades 3-5

Summer Sunday School begins June 3, and goes through July 29. Each Sunday in June and July, kids from Pre School through Fifth grade will meet in the Education wing at 9:45 for Bible lessons, crafts and outside play. Because we will be going outside, play clothes are a better choice for the warmer weather! Class ends at 10:50, in time for the 11:00 service. Our classes for June will cover:
June 3: God Created Man
June 10: Sin Enters the World
June 17: Cain and Abel
June 24: Noah and the Flood

We follow the Lutheran Educational Year, beginning the first Sunday after Labor Day and finishing on the Sunday before Memorial Day in May.

LSLC has a nursery provided for small children (ages 4 and younger) during the worship services and for Sunday School. Susanna Honeycutt is the attendant who watches the children, provides a short, age appropriate lesson during the services, and brings older children (ages 3-4) to the PreK-K Sunday School class during Sunday School, if the parent chooses. Please register your child with Susanna in the Nursery, located in the educational wing.

Confirmation instruction is a two year program for our young people, where we study the basic building blocks of our Christian faith as it is found in Martin Luther’s Small Catechism. This class is designed for 6th and 7th graders, and meets in the Confirmation Room on Sunday mornings during the Bible Study hour.

We have one Adult Sunday School class that meets in Klein Hall on Sundays. We are blessed with a variety of excellent lay teachers who provide informative and thought provoking lessons on Scripture and Church History, as well as a great group of students who share thoughts and testimonies of the impact of God’s word in their lives.

Women Retreat

The women of LSLC have put together a Women’s Retreat that will take place on Friday, April 20 through Sunday, April 22, at Shrine Mont Retreat Center, 217 Shrine Mont Circle, Orkney, Springs, VA 22845. Deaconess Debra Lennox will be the retreat leader, and she will be presenting a special Bible Journaling/Visual Faith session for those who attend. Contact Cathi Willuweit at for more information.
