Genesis 2:7 …then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature.
The world begins to change when God breathes. Life is created and it is good, but it did not stay good. And for many in the world, life is especially not good. Many people today are burdened by guilt, depression, and isolation. This is not the life that God called the world to live.
The breath of God still makes a difference in the world today.
John 20:22-23 Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.” And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”
The resurrection of Christ was the beginning of new life for the world. His breath showed that new life was in the world and it began to create peace in the world.
The Breath is the new name for our campus ministry outreach to George Mason University. We are about inviting others to participate in the new life that Christ offers to the world. But we also want to be creators of peace in the world. We want to equip others to have peace in their lives, in their relationships, and in their world.
I invite you to continue to support LSLC's outreach to GMU. Please pray for The Breath and stay tuned for new ways you can support it. LSLC's investment in GMU will not only effect the GMU community but it will positively grow the community of God.
